Council is responsible for carrying out various duties, functions and powers under a range of State legislation and Council’s Local Laws.
The practice of delegation has a long tradition originating in the desire to remove the need for formal Council consideration of matters that are essentially of a routine nature. As such, delegation is an important administrative tool which allows for the efficient and effective function of the organisation.
Council therefore delegates many duties, functions and powers to the CEO and the CEO, in turn, sub-delegates duties, function and powers to staff.
Current delegations in force across the organisation:
Council Delegation to CEO (as at 23/10/2023) - 169KB
Instrument of Sub-Delegation by the CEO to Members of Staff (as at 23/03/2022) - 1.5MB
Instrument of Delegation by Council to Members of Staff (as at 01/08/2022) - 632KB
Instrument of Financial Delegation (as at 01/11/2023) - 201KB
