Report Resident Problems and Faults

Councillors receive a large number of requests from residents if something is broken, missing or in need of the council’s attention.

In order for these requests to be dealt with promptly they must be recorded on the Merit system.

To record your residents requests all you need to do is take down their details:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Contact Number; and
  • Description of what needs to be done and the location of the problem if different from above

Following this, you then need to contact either Jo Thorn on jthorn@cgd.vic.gov.au or Council’s Call Centre on 8571 1000 to have your resident’s request recorded into the Merit system.

If reporting to the Call Centre you must identify yourself as a Councillor to ensure that this request shows up on your progress report (see below).

What to tell your resident

If residents approach you that something is broken, missing or in need of Council's attention, then they can report through our Snap Send Solve app.

Snap Send Solve lets residents report incidents quickly and easily and allows residents to upload a photo if they wish.

The Snap Send Solve information is available on Council's website under 'Report an issue'. Visit the website for more information on Snap Send Solve.
